Kennedy Plaza for Lunch, Thayer for Dinner / Von Steuben Arrives At Valley Forge and You Get A FREE Cookie

The first nine people to order using their best French accent get a FREE Chocolate-Dipped Espresso Shortbread Cookie with their purchase.
Why?
Because on February 23, 1778, Baron von Steuben arrives at Valley Forge and starts drilling soldiers, instilling confidence and discipline in the demoralized Continental Army. Von Steuben did not speak English and drafted a drill manual in French. Alexander Hamilton and Nathanael Greene then translated it into English. In order to take their minds off the brutal cold, Hamilton and Greene spent many hilarious hours in their tent making fun of Von Steuben’s accent when speaking French. This was no doubt inspired by Von Steuben’s fondness for overweight white cats, of which a dozen accompanied him to Valley Forge.

Washington’s Birthday, Lunch on Thayer, Dinner at Pawtucket Wintertime Market / Chocolate Dipped Espresso Shortbread Cookies

Washington couldn’t lie, he was craving a Parisienne Burger. Attacking on empty stomachs was simply uncivilized. So they got in their boats and crossed over. He was a little miffed that a spot of aioli had wound up on his coat and would be visible to the many Hessian prisoners taken that night. In any event, getting to the rocket is worth any effort that must be undertaken.

Lunch on Thayer today. Dinner at the Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers Market. Late night voyage being considered by Mission Control.

Local stuff on board today . . . Butternut Squash from Silverbrook Farm, Apples from Hill Orchards, Yacht Club sodas, Seven Stars Bakery Pain die Mie, Silver Star Bakery hamburger buns.

Okay you’ve reached the bottom, here you find out that if you are one of the first nine customers today to come to the rocket and confess to chopping down the cherry tree, you are entitled to a free Chocolate Dipped Espresso Shortbread Cookie with a purchase for being so honest.

Lunch in Kennedy Plaza Today Despite Flavor Explosion / Try Grilled Cheese With Apple-Onion Chutney

The flavor explosion took place during the preparation of the chutney. Made with local apples from Hill Orchards in Smithfield and packed with the flavors of vinegar, mustard seed, onions, garlic and lemon. Things went over the edge when the red pepper flakes were added creating an ever so gentle tingling sensation which caused the flavor explosion. Things nearly got out of hand before the explosion was contained within a crunchy, gooey grilled cheese. No crew members were injured and today’s launch is on schedule.
